Building Your English Vocabulary Online

The internet is a wealth of information with data and tools at our fingertips to help us to learn English and continue to build our vocabulary as we progress. If you don’t utilize your newfound language skills and keep adding to your vocabulary you will become more hesitant to use it.

If you have your own computer or can use one at work or school that is a start. Other resources are available as well like a library or an internet café that often has computers available for anyone to use. The key is that as you continue to learn English you have to keep adding to your knowledge base.

Online tools will assist you with explanations of grammar usage and can provide exercises that will test your knowledge and show you your errors so that you can learn easily. There are reading and writing exercises with quizzes at the end. You can build your vocabulary with games, flash cards and general tests – all of which are often free and are fun to do as well.

With interactive databases and links that will challenge your knowledge of phrases, verbs and how they are used, you will be amazed at how quickly you will absorb this information and develop a better vocabulary and usage of words. Once you have learned new words, there are learning strategies available that will push you onward to utilize this newfound information and keep using it until it becomes second nature.

Most of the online resources are free making it almost impossible to find an excuse not to try it and see how well you can do. Each time you take a quiz you will be increasing your English skills and vocabulary thereby improving your ability to communicate with anyone anywhere – about any subject!
